The Historic Hammonton Train Station is prominently located in downtown Hammonton, and is serviced by Amtrak and the New Jersey Transit Atlantic City Line. The building also houses the Greater Hammonton Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Hammonton offices, and is used as a meeting space for local civic organizations.

In 2000, TE funds were awarded, under Category 1, for sidewalk improvements to provide a pedestrian link between the station and the town's Historic Downtown Business District. Federal Award: $173,000; Local Match: $97,000; Total Cost: $270,000
