Bayonne Streetscape Bayonne, NJ
Read MoreTE funds enabled the city of Bayonne in New Jersey to streetscape an important commercial corridor. The project included construction of new curbs, sidewalk pavers, ornamental lighting, tree plantings and street structures.
Mayor Joseph V. Doria, Jr. was quoted in the local paper as saying that “Broadway’s new appearance in the Bergen Point area will make it more marketable and attractive to potential new businesses. As more grants become available, other areas will receive new streetscaping, too. The people of Bayonne will have more pride in our commercial areas as a result of this work.”
The city has received over $2 million in four separate TE grants from 1997 - 2004 as part of its incremental revitalization. These federal funds have been more than 100% matched by local dollars invested in the project.
